A Story You May Have Already Heard, But Never Gets Old

There was once a tale of a road 9-2 team facing a 10-1 home foe in week 13 on MNF. The visiting 9-2 team got destroyed by the home team. They were outclassed in every sense of the word. They looked unprepared, over matched and just plain scared from the opening whistle till the clock read triple zeroes. The following Tuesday morning, social media and sports talk shows exploded. People said that if those two teams faced off again in the playoffs, it would most definitely be at the home team's place AGAIN, and that it would probably be the exact same outcome.

That team, now 9-3, was fairly inconsistent the rest of the year, and finished with an 11-5 record and a 6th seed in the playoffs. They were an underdog in their wild card game, and people said there was no way they would win on the road in the post season. Not many pundits gave them a chance, but they won anyways. A game winning field goal as time expired sent them to the next round, and people were shocked.

No...I'm not talking about this year's Saints team. I'm talking about the 2010 New York Jets. The point of this entire story? That 11-5 team DID end up facing the same team they were dismantled by in week 13 in the Divisional round, just as the experts predicted. What the experts failed to also predict, was that those Jets would return to the same field the Patriots mopped them with just weeks prior and win.

Moral of the story: it's the playoffs. The regular season stats, numbers, whatever is all out of the window. It's a new season. From this moment on, the games go to who wants it more. Let's go make history and "Conquer the Clink"!

Now I don't know bout ya'll, but I'm feelin like Bart Scott up in here!!!
