Saints DE/LB Junior Galette has got former defensive Saints players all pissed off tonight after comments he made saying the current Saints defensive players are better than any of the veterans no longer with the team. He even singled out Will Smith and Jonathan Vilma.
Let's not waste any time. Here's what The Bearded One had to say:
"Here, the guys that replaced them are better than the guys we had. It's not even close. Across the board," Galette said. "I'll take Kenny Vaccaro any day over any safety. And I'll take (Cam Jordan) over any defensive end. Jairus Byrd over any safety."
"Lofton is putting up numbers Vilma never put up. So. It is what it is," Galette said.
"I feel like, you know, he's (Will Smith) never been a better player than me, regardless from whatever stage he was at. Or Cam."
Woah. Shots have been seriously fired.
Naturally many of the former Saints defensive players whom he was referring to were not happy and responded:
Smh this fool done lost his mind @JuniorG93, worry about winning games and championship first n then hop off my D$@k http://t.co/soSvZDfUQY

No need to overthink this one. I imagine he's already had his ass chewed behind closed doors. @iMARKINGHAM @JonVilma51 @scottshanle

Of course, it's hard to take Junior's comments seriously when he's the captain of a 5-7 defense currently ranked second-to-last in the league allowing 390.5 yards per game and those guys all have a Super Bowl ring on their finger.
I'd say Galette might want to think about apologizing but something tells me that's not in his plans. Perhaps he should focus more on winning football games
