Saints News, 2/28/14: Saints To Use Franchise Tag On Jimmy Graham Before Monday

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sport

Adam Schefter reports that a source has confirmed with him that the Saints will use their franchise tag on Jimmy Graham before the deadline this Monday. No surprise here. Graham and his agent are expected to then immediately file a grievance through the players' association, asking that Graham be considered a receiver because he lined up out wide or in the slot on 67% of his snaps last season. The franchise tags for tight ends and receivers are expected to be about $6.7 million and $11.5 million, respectively.
