Saints News, 5/8/14: Will Saints Buck Defensive Trend in NFL Draft?

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sport

It seems many prognosticators are expecting the Saints to draft an offensive player in the first round of the NFL Draft tonight. ESPN's Mike Triplett writes, "For the past six years in a row, the Saints' top pick has been a defensive player. Loomis said that's not exactly a coincidence, since the Saints had more needs on defense during most of those years. But those needs can change from year to year." WWLTV's Glenn Guilbeau thinks there's a high probability that the Saints will draft either a center or a receiver tonight. See links to these articles and others below.
