CSC All-Time New Orleans Saints Team
CSC All-Time Saints Team Election: Quarterback
Let's settle this!
Today is the day you guys get to choose the quarterback for CSC's all-time Saints team. Our nomination post was yesterday and you can find it right here in the event that you missed it.
Based on your discussions yesterday I have decided to add Aaron Brooks to our ballot.
The polls are officially open and will remain so for exactly 48 hours which means they will close at 6am on Thursday, August 12th. You only get one vote so make it count. You can make a difference. If you've never voted in a CSC poll to date, now is the perfect time to start. Be sure to tell everyone you know to come on over and vote as well.
As always, the comment section is open for more discussion about these great players and the way things used to be.
CSC All-Time Saints Team Nominations: Quarterback
It's the moment you've all been waiting for. The moment you've been dreaming about since last summer when we first began our Canal Street Chronicles All-Time Saints Team. Ladies and gentlemen, it's time to begin the process of selecting the greatest quarterback ever to wear the black & gold.
After the jump you'll find the obvious three slingers I've nominated: Archie Manning, Bobby Hebert and Drew Brees. I know there are a few other possible names worthy of inclusion - and feel free to talk about them - but personally I think we should limit the ballot to just these three. Talk it out below.
The poll will open at 6am Central tomorrow morning and will be open for exactly 48 hours, ending on Thursday, August 12th.
I now open it up for any other nominations of players that you just can't believe I missed or to have one of the players listed below removed from tomorrows ballot. There very well may be a glaring omission or a player you just can't believe I missed. Talk it out below. I would also love to hear some personal rumination from our readers who've actually watched these guys play. Remember, this isn't just about choosing a player but allowing readers to share their memories of these players and educating those of us who never had a chance to see them.
Cha Ching! - Rickey Jackson and the Saints finally enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame

What a year it's been! We finally made it to a Super Bowl and then shocked the world by actually winning it in dramatic fashion. As if that wasn't enough, today we also get to see one of the greatest ever to wear the black and gold inducted into the Hall of Fame. Tonight, Rickey Jackson will have his bronze bust immortalized in Canton, Ohio along with Jerry Rice, Emmit Smith, Russ Grimm, Dick LeBeau, Floyd Little, and John Randle. This is a list of true NFL greats, but for us Saints fans, the day belongs to Mr. Jackson. He becomes the first long-time Saint to receive this honor. Let's start this little tribute with some video:

Based on your discussions yesterday I have decided to remove Tony Galbreath from the ballot because he was already included as a fullback. I have, however, replaced him by adding Reuben Mayes.

This may not be as hot a topic as all-time Saints quarterback (coming soon!) but I definitely expect some good discussion and argument today. Just keep it clean and respectful. Or maybe I'm totally wrong and this is a no-brainer.
Below is a list of players I've researched and deemed worthy of inclusion in our discussion of great Saints running backs. As usual I will leave it up to you guys, the readers, to nominate any other players you feel should be included or tell me why the ones nominated don't deserve to be.

Based on your discussions yesterday I've decided to go ahead with the formality of a poll, even though we're all pretty certain who will win anyway, to select the kicker for our all-time Saints team here at Canal Street Chronicles. Just in case you missed the nomination post, read it right here.
The other kickers many of you thought were worthy of being included on the ballot along with Morten Andersen were John Carney, Tom Dempsey and Doug Brien. They have each been added.
