2010 New Orleans Saints Training Camp
Predicting the Saints 53-Man Roster: First Edition
With two pre-season games under their belt, we're unofficially allowed now to take a legitimate crack at predicting the Saints final 53-man roster for the 2010 season. So after the jump you will find my own, personal attempt at anticipating which players will be listed on the week one roster when the Saints take on the Minnesota Vikings on September 9th. Not necessarily in depth chart order.
Maybe you'll praise me or tell my I'm crazy but now's not the time to start getting lazy. This is meant to stir up debate and get everyone talking so go nuts in the comment section.

Saints Pre-Season Battles: Stock Report
Another game and another opportunity is in the books for many of the bubble players looking to play professional football for the reigning world champion New Orleans Saints. The performances will be evaluated by coaches this week and weigh heavily in their final decision as to who stays and who will go.
I've got my own opinions and suggestions for the coaches, of course. Make the jump and take a look at which players I feel moved up and down the board in their effort to earn a full-time job on the Saints final 53-man roster then let me know whether you agree or disagree.

Houston Texans 20 @ New Orleans Saints 38: Who Dat Say!?
Woo-hoo!! The offense and defense were in fine form last night...dominating the first half in a MAJOR way, and allowing the team to cruise to an easy victory. 22-1 (two more preseason wins, then a perfect regular season followed by 3-0 in the playoffs to complete the 2Dat), here we come!!!
Here's your one-stop shop for all the news, words, photos, videos, smells, and sounds from the Saints-Texans preseason game last night. Usamamama probably has a lot to say since he didn't play in the game. Make the jump to lightspeed and find out.
Fleur-de-Links: New Orleans Saints vs. Houston Texans Pre-Game (Showdown in the Superdome)
Gameday is here. Not just any old Gameday, but the "2010 preseason opener in the Louisiana Superdome" Gameday as the New Orleans Saints and Houston Texans look to finally settle their differences on the field of preseason play.
How sweet it is. New turf on the field, new players in the black and gold, old players in new positions on the field (depending on your take on the strong-side vs. weak-side linebacker debate), fans in new seating locations within the Dome itself, as well as a new outdoor Venue of Champions opening for business and entertainment for the fans. Has your brain exploded yet in anticipation of all that is going on for this BIG GAME? Mine almost has.
Word is that the starters will be working into the second quarter of this game, so that will give us somewhat of a better look at the 2010 "squad that will come to be" put on the field vs. The Wikes on September 9.
Before I send you on your path to pre-game links fulfillment, let me just point you to a programming note posted by CobraJet in a fanshot yesterday. There are a couple of Saints programs coming on ESPN this week that you may want to check out don't want to miss.
If you vote in the poll, be sure to comment and explain why you voted the way you did.
Enjoy the jump and enjoy the links even more!
Fleur-de-Links: Saints Camp Ends, Team Rests Before Tomorrow's Game vs. the Texans
Not much new information to report today as the Saints wind down training camp. Players received a much needed day off before their 2nd preseason matchup against the Houston Texans tomorrow night. Game time is at 7:00 CST and, for those like myself who aren't able to watch it live, it will be rebroadcast on NFL Network at 12:00 AM CST Sunday morning.
There may be little new news today, but that hasn't stopped me from accumulating a Superdome load of links, tweets and video for ya. Much more after the....well, you know the routine by now.
Fleur-de-Links: Saints Camp Day 22 - Offense Finds Its Rhythm
After a rough outing in yesterday's practice against the Texans, the Saints offense was able to redeem itself to some degree today. In fact, if not for one Drew Brees interception you might say they looked like their normal, high-octane selves. Rest assured that they'll get the ole supercharged V12 hitting on all cylinders by the time you-know-who comes to town.
This isn't Saints related, but I wanted to express a sincere get-well-soon to Vikings WR Percy Harvin. He reportedly collapsed at practice today and had to be sent to the hospital. To my knowledge, he's one of the few Vikings players I've heard from that hasn't whined about our defense playing dirty or whatnot against "His Majesty no. 4" in the NFC Championship game. I truly hope he's able to overcome the migraine problem that's plagued him most of his life. He'll be a helluva player if he can ever get this problem solved.
In other Saints news, the defense also has a pretty good day against the Texans, John Stinchcomb was held out of practice due to an injured shoulder (not serious), and FIGHT!...FIGHT!, fisticuffs finally break out in today's practice. It was just a matter of time. More after the jump.
Opinion: Saints Fans Shouldn't Forget About Clint Ingram
I'm just full of opinions this week, aren't I? Actually, I meant to bring this topic up for discussion the other day while everyone was crazy for Casillas and the team promoted him to starting WLB, moving Scott Shanle to Fujita's former position on the strong side, but for some reason it slipped my mind. I hope I'm not too late. Haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else yet.
It seems Saints fans keep forgetting to throw Clint Ingram's name into the mix when discussing the competition at linebacker. Ingram and Darren Sharper are the only two players remaining on the PUP list and haven't played a down during training camp yet so it's easy to understand why. But I'm still optimistic and excited about what Ingram can bring to the table and think we're all in for a pleasant surprise upon his return. The question, however, is: Where does he fit in when he gets back?
Fleur-de-Links: Saints Camp Day 21 - Texans Come to Town and Carl Nicks Gets Demoted
Looks like Carl Nicks spent the day in the dog house. He was demoted to the 2's as the coaches sent a clear message to him and the others that mental mistakes and errors won't be tolerated. This looks to be only a temporary move aimed at getting his attention. Team sloppiness has been so frequent that coaches have reportedly resorted to having players run laps whenever they drop passes or commit pre-snap infractions. Wake up, fellas. The season is almost here.
Other notes include reports from the first day of joint practices with the Texans, Dave "The Baconator" Thomas stands out, the Shockmeister celebrates his birthday, and the never-ending saga of the old man from Mississippi who yells at clouds continues. Ya ever see the movie Groundhog Day? Well, the sequel to the sequel to the sequel is currently being filmed in Minnesota. Links, tweets, transcripts, and video after the jump.
