- Interesting article from the Football Outsiders about Bucs linebacker Barrett Ruud. It's clear that the Saints had to account for Ruud on every play, often to their detriment. Of all the players who are given credit for Tampa Bay's resurgence, Ruud should be at the very top.
- Also from the Football Outsiders, coming off their best team performance of the season against Carolina, the Saints put up an overall DVOA of - 3.1%. Although much of the talk was focused on how the defense kept the offense in the game, DVOA indicates that the offense (8.7%) actually performed better than the defense (allowed the Bucs 16.3%).
