PLAY OF THE DAY Cornerback Randall Gay and defensive end Jeff Charleston combined to force a turnover that brought a smile to Williams' face. Moments after catching a pass from Brunell, wide receiver Rod Harper turned into Gay and struggled for extra yards. Harper's second effort allowed Gay to strip the ball before the whistle blew. The ball popped into the air, Charleston snared it and ran upfield.

New Orleans Saints about to head indoors for abbreviated scrimmage

The Saints are planning to limit the scrimmage to fewer plays than usual. They'll have a session where the No. 1 offense faces the No. 2 defense, then the No. 2 defense will face the No. 1 offense, and the third-string units will face each other. After that, the 1s will face the 1s, the 2s will face the 2s and the 3s will square off again.
