Will the Saints pick up another RB before season?
[Note by Saintsational, 05/05/08 2:41 PM PDT ] This article from NFL.com says that Shaun Alexander will be meeting with the Saints following his visit in Cincinnati.
For the past week, they have been planning to bring Alexander to New Orleans for a visit. It is not hard to understand why.
There are questions about McAllister’s durability, Bush’s ability and Stecker and Thomas in general. Alexander would provide New Orleans with another capable back, a primary every-down back. At the age of 31, the Saints and Bengals are curious to see whether Alexander can still be productive.
In light of these recent events and to help increase discussion, I am promoting this FanPost to the front page. This also shows you what I can do with FanPosts and FanShots, so keep them coming and if they are good, you might find them right there on the main page. Kudos to Celtic Tiger for starting this one! Also props to Stujo4, our resident psychic who called this one, and who also refrained from using a curse word and instead chose to go with "effing." That is important, as we are trying to maintain a level of respectability here at CSC. I leave you with the original FanPost from Celtic Tiger...
Can we stand pat with the inside runners we have? If you can't effectively run inside, defenses will hedge outside. The Saints were most effective with both Duce and Reggie healthy. With only one in the game it made the Saints easier to defend. The numbers showed that last year. Duce has to be a question mark. Who is out there that could still be picked up? Rhodes was just released by the Raiders. Will he get a look by the Saints?
