Detroit game

Who else was going?

I know at least two of us are.

The season is not over.  The Saints have two very important tasks left to complete.

#1 - Not allow the Lions to beat them.  Being nice to let the winless Lions avoid 0-16 is just not allowed.

#2 - Not lose a home div game.  I am not tottally sure on this one but I think I saw something about all NFC south teams have won their division home games so far.

Dueces TD.

Ok.

Someone with the ability to watch this again take a look but...

First down

Brees throws a pass to a reciever who doesnt turn around to even look at the pass.

Second down

Duece runs in it for record.

My question.... was this a setup? Did they even TRY on that first down or was it a safe incomplete to make GB think we were not giving it to Deuce?

The general opinion here in Toronto is that it was a fakeout and the whole thing was a ploy to make sure Deuce got his TD.

If that is the case, I think we have to take a look at Coach and give him a big hug ourselves.  If I am wrong, I am still on the bubble about how he really feels about #26.

new info? Set Duece FREEEEEE!

So.

Now i hear that Duece not only has been taking these for FOUR years... he submitted them to the NFL for testing back then and they were approved.

If the company making the product changes their product and doesnt notify anyone... is it still the players fault?

This is probably the basis of the appeal.

This changes EVERYTHING for me.  Deuce DID follow the procedure.  He had it tested. He had it approved.  He should NOT be suspended.

Our Invisable ends have to hope their cases can be done along with Duece's as they are not as innocent.  Even tho Duece might have said this is safe and approved they maybe should have had it tested themselves.

I am NOT saying let Duece go free suspend them... but I am saying there is NO way they should suspend Ducee regardless of what happens to the rest.

Panthers fans thoughts on Key matchups

Was sneaking around the Panther boards and found this.

As might be expected, many Saints fans have been crapping their pants all week over the prospect of the Saints having to try to find a way to contain Big Bad Adrian Peterson. And yeah, he’s a badass. No sense in denying it. Peterson is 2nd in the league in rushing right now, and he’s only 2 yards behind Michael Turner. The Saints’ rushing defense currently ranks 20th in the league, allowing 122.8 per game. We’re screwed, right?

Moosedenied

The above is a link to another blog.  Be warned its not the for those that get offended by the words your momma used to threaten to wash your mouth out with soup if you used.

He has a rather good point about the Saints Offense and Defense.

Give it a click.

Agree? Disagree?

His point about the Offense kinda warms me up a bit.  His point about the Defense kinda scares me.  More then a  bit.

Yet another Saints moving claim...

Well this one took me by a bit of a suprise, and sadly has me actually wondering about it.  Let me say first that I am quick to say NO WAY to moving the team to LA or anywhere else the rumors have said it was on its way to.

But...

Today in a local Toronto paper, the writer says:

"Here’s the latest from those pursuing an NFL franchise for Toronto:

The Buffalo Bills, despite their agreement to play games at the Rogers Centre during the next five seasons, will not – I repeat, will not -- permanently move to Toronto.

There’s a new plan in place, and it calls for Ted Rogers et al to acquire another NFL club, possibly the New Orleans Saints or San Diego Chargers, in time for the 2010 season."

It has always been a hope of mine that a team would come to Canada. The city CAN support a team, and I have never really thought to much about the city that would lose theirs, so I could have one of my own.  I had planned on being a dual fan.. Saints #1, hometeam #2 and praying for and against the two ever meeting for a game.

So playing a game of what if...

We know Chargers are crying for new stadium or they move.  The Stadium here is too small really and a new one would have to built for them to come here.  I would love for that to happen though as my father was a Chargers fan.  I could cheer for them as well as my Saints.

The Saints. There is always talk of them moving and I never ever even thought about them coming here until I saw this.  Ticket prices would be higher even though the building is smaller so more money at the gate, so its feasible money wise.  I would be happy for myself... my team... in my city!

But a nanosecond after I think what a good idea I think of you all.  What the team means to the city and the area and how it was a symbol that NOLA was going to be ok 3 years ago.  I think about the players and how they help the community.  I begin to think that I am being selfish even thinking about the Saints coming to Toronto, and that I should be ashamed and not even mention this latest media report of a move.

I am asking myself why I continue to type this.  I have been at it for about 5 hours between fires popping up at work here.   I am no good at writing and to be honest I keep thinking that I am opening the door to getting kicked around by you all.  But something inside me tells me to continue and risk the wrath.  I have been a Saints fan for many years, yet I have never set foot in New Orleans.  I have seen the highs and the lows.  I have been there on the edge of my seat wondering how we were going to manage to lose the game when all signs pointed to a victory.  I have been there when the team drifted around post Katrina and wailed at the injustice of that season.  I was standing on my feet crying at the blocked punt for a touchdown that told the entire league WE ARE BACK!  I watched THE Season start out so horribly and wondered where I could find a gun and some rubber bullets and go after a certain member of our defense.  I found the CSC this off season and have posted now and then, lurked alot ( as I said, im no writer).

All my thoughts lead me to beat myself up for even thinking that I might hope that they would contimplate thinking about moving here.  But one little nagging thought keeps inserting itself.

If the Saints were to move... why not to my home?

Jason David

I am reading about the possible pickup of someone to fill in on the line for our injuries there and someone suggests if the person doesnt work out we can have them compete with Jason David for his role.

Of course this is not going to happen, but when everyone agrees that it would be BETTER for the team to have an aging DT play CB then Jason David, what do we have to do to get the message to the coaching staff?  What do they see in his play that makes them want to keep him?

I have no hate towards Mr David.  I am sure he is trying his best and is a good player when put in a scheme he can play, but have we not given him enough time to convert?

As much as I enjoy a shootout for entertainment value, I want to see the Black and Gold win the Superbowl.  That wont happen if Jason David is on the field.
