Saints to Audition Cundiff, two D-Bags for Kicker Role

New Orleans Saints placekicker Olindo Mare has missed four of seven attempts this season, including two kicks on Sunday that could have decided the Saints' 16-13 loss to Carolina. Consequently, the team is bringing in kickers to audition for Mare's role. If successful, the winner of the audition will replace Mare on the active roster as the primary placekicker.

According to the Times Picayune, former Dallas Kicker Billy Cundiff (who was a kickoff specialist for the Saints last season), former Buc Martin Gramatica and Mike Vanderjagt, of Indianapolis Colts fame, are scheduled to audition. Other possibilities include retaining Mare, who is suffering from a groin injury, and bringing in Josh Huston, a rookie from Ohio State.

Vote Cundiff.
