Okay, this is getting ridiculous. We now find ourselves in the exact same position as the actual 2007 Saints in week 6 of the season. This game was awful. Six turnovers negated all of the Saints offensive. This team isn't even close to what was expected. Make the jump...if you dare.
Deuce was a busy guy, toting the rock a whopping 35 times for 123 yards. He has been awesome this season and showsnno sign of slowing down. Unfortunately, this team is a turnover machine, tallying 6 today! Steam is probably coming out of Payton's ears at this point, as turnover ratio was one of his main focuses in the offseason. Drew Brees tallied another 3 interceptions, bringing the total to 8 in three games. I hope Jamie Martin is warming up. Somehow Eric Johnson has 2 fumbles on only 1 carry. Not sure how that works, unless he fumbled, recovered his own fumble, then fumbled it again on the same play. Sadly, that is entirely within the realm of possibility when talking about Eric Johnson. Wait a minute? Why was Eric Johnson running the ball anyway!? Mare made his only field goal attempt of the game, and it was a 48 yard bomb. Finally...distance and accuracy. At least that is one positive we can take from this. Mike McKenzie led the defense for the second week in a row, with 8 tackles. Charles Grant got on the board with a sack tonight.
Falcons are now a powerhouse and have the best record in the NFC. They also happen to be our next opponents. The perfect team to start winning against! If we don't start winning fast and often, our playoff chances are looking pretty grim. And with Atlanta actually taking control of the division, a wild card will be our only hope.
