I've got a little something different for all of you today. As some or most of you know I am in the college store business. This week my business happens to take me to West Lafayette, Indiana, home of Purdue University and the one and only Drew Brees. Drew Brees is to Lafayette what the Pope is to Catholics. Well, that might be an exaggeration but you get the idea. His likeness can be found everywhere here and Purdue fans love him. And why not? Word on the street is that Drew is still very active in the area here and comes back often to visit and give back to the community he loves so much.
While I was touring West Lafayette and checking out all that their college stores had to offer, I figured I would snap a few photos of everything Drew Brees and Saints related I could find. Turns out, there is much more than I would have thought. I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed learning a little bit about Drew's past.
And in case you are interested in purchasing any Purdue Boilermaker merchandise, be sure to check out PurdueGear.com.
I almost bought this one for my desk. It's a Drew Brees cutout. Oh yeah, Kyle Orton went to Purdue also.
Ross-Ade Stadium
Another crappy shot of the stadium.
Check out the Saints jersey in the Purdue store. It's funny that he now plays for a team with the same exact colors. It was meant to be!
Guess who else played for Purdue.
His Chargers and Purdue jersey.
The Purdue jersey was autographed by the man himself. Ironically, the name of the store was the Black and Gold Mine.
This was one of my favorites. That is Drew with his younger sister, autographed by both. What a great big bro!
There's that Chris Everett guy's jersey again. Check out the Saints helmet! In Indiana!!
Purdue is the cradle of quarterbacks.
He's not doing the tongue thing in this one.
