Saints Camp Day 6: Offense boosted by return of the Quiet Storm

Here's your daily compilation of links. Some were posted in the Fanshot section earlier in the day and some are new. The best news of the day would have to be that of the offense finally coming to life after the return of a "100%" Marques Colston. Of course, we all knew they eventually would, despite the fact they have to face Gregg Williams' relentless defense every day.

Links to transcripts are also included. There's a G-Dub transcript and video that are must-sees.

Also of note is the article telling of how Peyton Manning no longer wants to talk about Super Bowl XLIV. Read the article to see the details. His angst is my amusement.

Oh yeah, there's also some links to stories regarding "Defcon Favre 2010" for those who aren't yet totally sick of reading about it. Credit jeremysherwin for that catchy title. It totally fits the sports media's epic fail from yesterday.

Much more after the jump. I'll update it a little later with the late afternoon articles from around the web.

TRAINING CAMP:

Pierre Thomas back at practice | NOLA.com
New Orleans Saints Coach Sean Payton said this morning running back Pierre Thomas would be back in about a couple of days. That estimate turned into a matter of hours as Thomas returned to the field at training camp in the team's afternoon practice indoors today.

Sedrick Ellis poised for big year | wwltv.com | Eye on Black and Gold
Sedrick Ellis is nearly always affable, generally accessible and much of the time filled with a humorous retort or two. But don’t at all think that his relative lack of intensity off the field translates to little focus on it.

Wednesday Morning Practice Notes

New Orleans Saints secondary working on catching the ball | NOLA.com
One of the things that has stood out several times at the New Orleans Saints training camp is the inability of defensive backs to hold on to the ball. It seems as if each day someone in the secondary drops what should be a sure interception.

Pierre Thomas' X-rays to examine an apparent left wrist injury came back negative. Thomas was present this morning, but he wore protective padding and did not practice.

"It's been tough, " Tennant said Monday after his first official practice as a professional football player. "But I know my mother, and she wouldn't want anything to stop my pursuit of a Super Bowl or being a part of a championship team. That's what I'm going to keep doing, because I know that's what I know she would want me to do."
