Saints 21 @ Vikings 13: Second Half Open Thread

Well, it is quite a tight game there in the Metrodome as the Saints are giving it their all to keep the spirited Vikings at bay, 21-13.

The Saints have lost two fumbles inside their own 30-yard line, but the "up for it" defense held the Vikings to a combined negative yardage total on both drives, and they had to settle for FGs.

The biggest trick play of the half saw Sean Payton dial up a surprise onsides kick after the Saints second TD, but first Courtney Roby, then Will Herring failed to corral the ball, and it went to the Vikings at their 40-yard line. An Adrian Peterson 39-yard run on 3rd and 1 set up the only Vikes TD of the game on that drive.

Drew Brees is lighting them up with 3 TD passes and a 149.1 passer rating. Darren Sproles, Lance Moore, and Jimmy Graham each have a TD and at least 3 catches. The Saints have run the 15 times for 62 yards.

Jared Allen has been pretty much neutralized, and Adrian Peterson has 51 yards on 6 carries.

Kudos to the defense for minimizing the damage from the turnovers so far.

The Vikings will receive the kickoff to start the third quarter, so we could use another quick defensive stop to get the ball back to Drew Breeeeeees!! and the boys.
