Last week I suggested starting a Saints running back in your respective fantasy football league, since I thought the team would have a successful day rushing the ball against a weak Giants run defense. As it turns out, I was right. The Saints had one of their best days on the ground with 205 total yards at an efficient 6.8 yards per carry. The only problem is that this was accomplished as a committee with carries and production spread relatively evenly among Mark Ingram, Pierre Thomas and Darren Sproles, meaning nobody is racking up the fantasy points.
But this week I'm going to go out on a limb and just pick one of the Saints running backs as your fantasy football sleeper: rookie Mark Ingram. Of all the Saints rushers last week, he was the most valuable from a fantasy perspective. And I'll be damned if he's not due for one of them breakout games I keep hearing about. So take a chance, pull the trigger and put Mark Ingram in that starting spot on your fantasy team. I dare you.
The only person holding me back from looking like a fantasy football genius on this one is Sean Payton.
