Mike Pouncey, G/C, Florida
The Giants offensive line has started to show signs of age. Shaun O'Hara, who has been an anchor at the center position, only played in six games last season and is coming off of off-season ankle surgery. Rich Seubert and Chris Snee, the starting guards, are 31 and 29 respectively. Mike Pouncey could come in and start from day one, or at the very least, provide valuable depth on the interior of this aging and injured offensive line.
Mike Pouncey's stock has been rising as of late. A big reason for this is the success of his twin brother Maurkice Pouncey. Maurkice was named a Pro Bowler and helped lead his team to the Super Bowl in his rookie season, and it stands to reason that his identical twin brother could have similar success.
Basically, the Giants' biggest needs are on their offensive line. They could look to draft a tackle with this pick. I think if Anthony Castonzo is available, the Giants would take a hard look at him here. Tyron Smith and Gabe Carimi could also go at this spot. However, with Pouncey's ability to add depth at all three interior positions, plus a real lack of depth at center, make him the obvious choice here.
