Filling out QB Power Rankings ballot - NFC South Blog - ESPN
Drew Brees, Matt Ryan and Josh Freeman will be on my ballot. I’m sure the rest of the voters will have Tom Brady and Peyton Manning in the top two slots. But I’m going to break from convention and put one of the NFC South guys in one of those two spots. Again, it’s pretty obvious I’m talking about Brees.

Three-game road trips not a favor - NFC South Blog - ESPN
The Saints get their stretch earlier, in Weeks 4 through 6. They go to Carolina, Jacksonville and Tampa Bay. Yeah, the Saints had a better record than all three of those teams last season and New Orleans should remain pretty strong.

McShay has the Saints taking Illinois defensive tackle Corey Liuget at No. 24. Entirely possible and he could team with Sedrick Ellis and Shaun Rogers to suddenly give the Saints a very strong rotation in the middle of the line.

AROUND THE LEAGUE:

NFLPA* gets a taste of the downside of decertification | ProFootballTalk
Last week, when we were arguing that all 32 owners should be at the mediation session in Minnesota, a league-leaning source responded by contending that, if all owners should attend mediation, all 1,900 players should be there, too, since they'll ultimately have to vote on any final offers.

Mediation breaks for nearly a month | ProFootballTalk
The good news is that mediation in the fight between the NFL and the players hasn't ended.  The bad news is that it won't continue until the middle of May. Albert Breer of NFL Network reports that mediation has adjourned until the tentative date of May 16.

Week One schedule could be league office’s power play to end lockout | ProFootballTalk
Last night, we pointed out that a lockout that chews into the regular season would result in the loss of multiple significant games in Week One. That concept provided the meat for our official PFT Live take on the situation.
