It appears as if the NFL and the association formerly known as the NFLPA have been meeting for mediated negotiation sessions, as ordered by U.S. Magistrate Judge Arthur Boylan.
The two sides released a joint statement today on the meetings:
"The parties met pursuant to court mediation. Owners and players were engaged in confidential discussions before Chief Magistrate Judge Boylan. The court has ordered continued confidentiality of the mediation sessions."
This can only be good news. Even if it doesn't lead to anything, it's good to know the sides are talking and perhaps cooler heads are prevailing.
Tomorrow, both sides will argue why they believe the lockout should or should not be lifted. Then eventually we will get a ruling.
