Time to take another look at the state of the Saints roster through this free agency period.
Currently, the Saints have 87 players under contract or agreed to terms.
They still have one rookie left to sign, Cameron Jordan, but that's all but definite so he is included on the final roster. Sean Payton said yesterday he expects Jordan to sign "sooner rather than later."
That gives the Saints a total of 88 players on their official roster.
With a roster limit of 90, that leaves 2 open roster spots left to fill, either by re-signing one of their own free agents or bringing in a new free agent player; unless they make more cuts to create more room. Restricted free agent Carl Nicks is almost sure to take one of those open spots, which means really just one spot remains open.They'll probably leave that roster spot open to sign Kenny Chesney for a day.
