The debate on Gillette's Facebook page this week is about NFL coaches. Specifically, they want to know which coach would you be the most comfortable with leading your team in to the playoffs, and why?
That's a question with an easy answer: a non-suspended coach. And if it hadn't been for that meddling Roger Goodell, perhaps the Saints would have had that opportunity. In all seriousness, though, Sean Payton is a solid choice for this. We already know he's capable of getting the job done. I know I sound like a homer right now.
But if I had my pickings I supposed I'd have go with Bill Belichick. If his 15-4 playoff record doesn't speak for itself, than the three Super Bowl championships and two AFC championships in 11 years should say something. Case closed.
Gillette doesn't specify whether your answer needs to be a current NFL coach so I suppose we could open this debate up to all-time coaches in NFL history. If that's the case, then you've got to consider coaches like Vince Lombardi and Bill Walsh. I still might go with Belichick, though.
What do you think? Who would you most want calling the shots for the Saints when it's win or go home, current and all-time?
