2012 Free Agency: How Are The Saints Doing So Far?

Yesterday, Dave brought us a bit of drivel from the honored and treasured NFL writer John Clayton, in which he anointed the Saints one of three losers thus far in free agency.

In the comment section of that post, there was much outrage over the assessment, at least some partial agreement with the assessment, personal attacks on Mr. Clayton, questioning of his professional acumen, and clever use of images.

All that got me wanting to go ahead and put it to a vote to see exactly how the legion of CSC faithful actually feel the Saints are doing so far in free agency.

Vote in the poll and then meet me across the jump. Or make the jump to read my recap of the Saints current status in the 2012 free agency frenzy, and then vote.

Here's my short-form version of what the Saints have done (let me know if I've missed anything, and go here for the official nola.com Saints free agency tracker):

Back In the fold - QB Drew Brees (franchised...less than ideal, I know, but there's still time to get the long-term contract worked out), WR Marques Colston (re-signed), G Ben Grubbs (newcomer), QB Chase Daniel (re-signed), DE Turk McBride (re-signed).

Gone pecans - G Carl Nicks (Tampa Bay) and WR Robert Meachem (San Diego).

Testing the waters - CB Tracy Porter (visited Cincinnati) and LB Jo-Lonn Dunbar (rumored to be sought by others, may visit teams next week), along with a number of other contributors/role players who may look elsewhere.

Checking out the Saints - LBs David Hawthorne, Joe Mays, and Curtis Lofton, DT Brodrick Bunkley, and TE Joel Dreessen.

So, the question you need to answer with your vote and explanatory commentary below is: How are the Saints doing in free agency so far?
