Cornerback Elbert Mack to Visit Saints this Week

The Saints will be kicking the tires on free agent cornerback Elbert Mack sometime this week, according to a tweet yesterday from Larry Holder:

#Bucs FA CB Elbert Mack will visit the #Saints this week, according to two sources familiar with the visit.

This should be welcome news for Saints fans given that the team is now quite thin at the cornerback position, having lost Tracy Porter and Leigh Torrence through free agency this off-season.

Mack is a four-year veteran who has played his entire career with NFC South division rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He certainly doesn't appear to be a game changer but Mack is serviceable to say the least and coming off arguably his best season to date. It's always an added bonus when you can take a steal a player from a division rival, especially when that rival just took your best guard.
