Vilma, Saints reportedly restructure contract

I'm not sure how this got past us until today (thanks, MtnExile and No.1SaintFan), but Larry Holder tweeted yesterday that the Saints and embattled LB Jonathan Vilma have agreed to a restructured contract.

The #Saints restructured Vilma's deal today, via a league source.

NFL.com had the story this morning (that's the one No.1SaintFan brought to us)...

Vilma has restructured his contract with the team, a league source told Larry Holder of CBSSports.com on Friday. Terms of the deal were undisclosed.

This should free up some cap space, and Himself of Who Dat Social Club writes of this as a commitment of the Saints to Vilma that shows he's going to stick around for a while, suspension or not (follow the link above for more).

Seems like good news to me...what about you?
