With the fifth pick of the 2012 CSC Community Mock Draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (chosen by Alex Swift) select...

Morris Claiborne, CB, LSU

Height: 5-11 Weight: 188

Eric Wright. Ronde Barber. Aqib Talib. Two years ago, a deadly corner combination. Now? Barber's old; he turns 37 next week, and only had 79 tackles last year. Eric Wright was the second most targeted cornerback last season (one target behind the Saints very own Jabari Greer), and was in the top 10 for receiving yardage against. And who really knows what's going on with Talib, with both his play dropping (allowed opposing quarterback's to post QB ratings of 109.8 last year) and his legal issues (indicted May 2011 for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon).

The Buccaneers have a good, young offense, with Josh Freeman, LeGarrette Blount, Mike Williams and Vincent Jackson, and a beefed up offensive line with former Saint Carl Nicks. They had major issues on defense last year, however, and while some may argue for a defensive end here, I don't see it.

Morris Claiborne is a former receiver who moved to CB his freshman year at the urging of teammate, and current member of the Arizona Cardinals, Patrick Peterson. His receiving background should help bring some playmaking ability to the Bucs back end this year. He is a hard hitter, with a long reach that helps to bring down ball carriers. Winner of the Jim Thorpe award, granted to the nation's best cornerback, Claiborne will need to put on some weight to match up with bigger NFL wide receivers.
