Saints Sign Marquis Johnson

The New Orleans Saints have signed former St. Louis Rams cornerback Marquis Johnson, according to Mickey Loomis. The Times-Pic appears to be the first outlet to share this news.

Johnson, 5 feet 11 and 205 pounds, is a former 2010 seventh-round pick of the St. Louis Rams. In two seasons, he played in five games, totaling seven tackles. In three games last season, he had five tackles and defended three passes.

Not really an impact signing, but it's good to know that Johnson was drafted by and worked under Saints defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, so perhaps he knows something about Marquis that we don't. It's also great to see the team add some depth at a thin cornerback position.

What do you guys think about the signing?
