It's been almost four months since the Saints lost a heartbreaker to the San Francisco 49ers in the 2012 NFL Playoffs. GAAA!!

A lot has happened since then: Drew Brees hasn't signed, Steve Spagnuolo was brought in to run the defense, the team has been tarred and feathered/chopped and skrewed over Bountygate, they signed some good LBs to upgrade the defense, Drew Brees still hasn't signed, Eavesdropping-gate didn't stick, the 2012 draft was just MEH (not unexpectedly so, but boring nonetheless), and in case you weren't aware, Drew Brees remains unsigned.

Not all the news was terrible, but I sure wouldn't call it a "fun" offseason. Make the jump as I try to inject some fun into it.

You may recall that I shared my love of marching bands last fall when Lance Moore's spontaneous dance @ Jacksonville led to my posting of the Ohio U Band's version of LMFAO's Party Rock Anthem.

Well, now that we have felt the full weight of the 2012 offseason upon us, and it's still more than three and a half months until training camp starts, I was thinking that we might all benefit from just closing our eyes, drifting off to sleep, and enjoying some Sweet Dreams until real football starts again, courtesy of the Soul Rebels.

I first heard this on the way home from work on February 29, when they appeared on World Cafe, and it BLEW MY MIND. I've always enjoyed this song by the Eurythmics, but hearing the Soul Rebels rock it so hard absolutely made my day. I could imagine hearing it at Mardi Gras parades, football games, and other events, and it made me feel so good inside.

Some of them want to use you. Some of them want to get used by you. Some of them want to abuse you. Some of them want to beeeee abuuuuused...

So there's my offseason "Sweet Dreams" moment. What's yours? How have you kept sane during this offseason?

Videos, images, and other links are not only suggested, but very much encouraged and even mandated, dare I say, for the enjoyment of all...
