As promised, I am bringing you the weekly updates as we count down the hits from coast to coast with Casey Kasem's guest DJ, Rick Dees. Wait, what?

Sorry folks, but I have long distance dedications and Casey's Top 40 Countdowns on my mind since this week's installment of the NFL's Top 100: Players of 2012 includes G Carl Nicks, who left the New Orleans Saints for the bigger bucks and cool in-stadium pirate ship of the Tampa Bay area.

More after the jump...

Wednesday night brought us the third show of the 2012 season, revealing #s 80-71 of the Top 100 NFL Players of 2012 (as selected by a fickle mob):

80-Jordy Nelson

79-Nnamdi Asmougha

78-Derrick Johnson

77-A.J. Green

76-Carl Nicks

75-Jason Witten

74-Joe Flacco

73-Johnathan Joseph

72-Lance Briggs

71-DeSean Jackson

Here's Carl's video portion of the program, featuring a lot of talk from the Atlanta Falcon's Jonathan Babineaux. In the video, you'll also hear them talk of Nicks and Davin Joseph forming one of the best guard combos in the league, even though they haven't even played together yet (I'm not saying they won't be, but I just think we should wait and see how they actually perform together before crowning their a****).

Fun Fact: Carl came in at #55 on last year's list. That's 21 spots higher than this year. WHAT!?!?!?!?!?

Good thing the Saints dumped him because the precipitous fall in his 2011 performance (i.e. STEEP DECLINE) that is so accurately reflected on this @highly scientific and reliable player rating system@, was sure to continue, right?

* * *

So, are you happy for Carl Nicks, cursing him under your breath, or glad to be rid of him?
