The New Orleans Saints opened training camp yesterday with player arrivals, physicals, conditioning drills, and meetings in preparation for the first practice on Thursday.
Larry Holder, who is apparently the Times-Picayune's "Next Man Up" now in filling a hole in the Saints Beat...

Lots of great coverage from Times-Pic/Nola.com Saints beat team, including new beat man @LarryHolder, who debuts today: http://www.nola.com/saints/index.html ...
...has filed a story on the nola.com with some injury news and roster moves.
From the looks of it, rookie Akiem Hicks may go on the PUP list with the fractured hand he suffered in the OTAs, running back Mark Ingram may be limited by his knee surgery recovery, and there's no new news on Chris Ivory's hamstring injury (which kept him out of the last week of OTAs).
Holder also reported that the Saints signed TE Derek Schouman and WR Marques Clark, while releasing WR Kevin Hardy to get the roster to exactly 90 players.
I read somewhere else that LB Jonathan Vilma was placed on the injured/reserve list.
I suppose we should open things up to discussion on the acquisition of new beat man Holder and how that will impact the team, as well as whether these injuries are anything to be concerned about...so get to it!
