Despite being on a bye this week and not playing any game, the Saints still have a firm grasp on first place in the NFC South.
But the Carolina Panthers are now just two games behind the Saints and closing the gap. Carolina beat the Rams 30-15 yesterday, their second win in a row. The Saints must play the Panthers twice this season so things are still interesting in the division.
The Falcons and Buccaneers actually played each other yesterday, with Atlanta getting their second win of the season. At this point the Falcons would have a very difficult road to the top. The Bucs obviously pose zero threat to any team in the league, let alone the Saints.
