During the FOX broadcast of the Saints' 26-18 win over the Bears, announcers Joe Buck and Troy Aikman took a break from calling the game in front of them to discuss the bigger NFL picture, in particular the best teams in the league.
When Buck asked Aikman whether he agreed if the Seahawks were the front-running team in the NFC, Aikman did, in fact, agree despite the very talented and undefeated Saints team winning right in front of him:
It's interesting because when we came into the season really everyone was talking about the NFC being the stronger conference and the only real powerhouse in the AFC being Denver but [laughs], but y'know, coming into this weekend and the undefeated teams, only Seattle out of the NFC.
Really, Troy? You don't think the Saints are in the mix at all? You don't consider the Saints contenders for the top spot in the NFC? Seattle is the only NFC team worthy of powerhouse distinction? I see how it is.
Perhaps Aikman would like to change his answer now that the Seahawks have lost to the Colts and the Saints are the only undefeated team remaining in the NFC.
