The New Orleans Saints today made the move we all knew was coming since Sunday and placed rookie strong safety Kenny Vaccaro on injured reserved, officially ending his first NFL season.
Merry f---ing Christmas, ya'll!
Vaccaro had surgery Tuesday in Charlotte to repair a broken left ankle suffered Sunday in the Saints' 17-13 loss to the Panthers, adding injury to insult.
Here are Vaccaro's final stats after 14 games of an admirable rookie campaign.
The open roster spot was filled by defensive back Terrence Frederick, 23-year-old defensive back from the Cleveland Brown's practice squad. Frederick has very little NFL experience.
The Saints also lost WR/KR Chris Williams to another teams active roster, so they signed wide receiver Charles Hawkins to the practice squad as a replacement.
