Predictions for the 2013 Saints Roster

Below are answers to reader questions submitted Monday. Special thanks to all those that participated. Feel free to continue the discussion on any of these topics in the comment section below.

Are you planning on taking in any of the Super Bowl week activities your lovely host city has planned or is it all just one super headache for the locals? - Vicki J.

Earlier this week Tulane sports law professor Gabe Feldman hosted a panel discussion featuring NFLPA assistant executive director George Atallah, Andrew Brandt and Mike Pesca that I attended. Scott Fujita and Steve Gleason were there as well. It was held at Tulane's Hillel, which is literally a block from my store, and it was free so I had to check it out. Pretty interesting. Other than that, the only Super Bowl activity I will be taking in is the actual game itself. I will head downtown early and check out the scene that day, but other than that I've stayed away.

Will you have press credentials this year? - B.R. Saints

Unfortunatley, no. But I'm going to the game and my seats will probably be better than the press box anyway. I'd rather just enjoy the game rather than have to "work."

Considering the fact that the Saints gave up a #1 and a #2 round pick for Ingram and his ho- hum production levels for the past 2 years...Do you think this will be the defining season on whether Ingram is a draft bust or not? - Tim P.

By "ho-hum" are you referring to his team-leading 602 rushing yards (129 yards more than Pierre Thomas) and five touchdowns in 2012? I've got bad news for you: if you think Ingram is bad then there isn't much hope for the Saints running game in general. I've said this many times before and I will say it once again: there's nothing wrong with any of the Saints running backs. There is, however, something seriously wrong with the way they use those running backs. So to answer your question, I don't think it's fair to label him a bust until he's given a fair shake.

Assuming Martez Wilson starts at one spot, who's the other OLB in the 3-4? - The Irish Ass.

Scott Shanle, of course.

Just kidding. Seriously, though, I definitely don't think it's going to be Roman Harper as I know many fans would like to see. He's just not big enough. Realistically, it will probably be David Hawthorne or Chris Chamberlain. But I wouldn't mind seeing them give Junior Galette a shot at linebacker just for giggles. Ya never know!

We have a number of key free agents Some are due a payday, and some just aren't very good players. Which ones do you think will not return? Will Jermon Bushrod be back or will we find a FA replacement? - V. Dubs

Of the following ten players, how many will be on next year's squad. Name the five most likely to be back, and the five least likely to be back. Will Smith, J. Bushrod, Roman Harper, David Thomas, Scott Shanle, Devery Henderson , Jonathan Vilma, Pierre Thomas, Sedrick Ellis, Chris Ivory. - Ben D.

The five most likely to return are: Chris Ivory, Roman Harper, Jermon Bushrod, Pierre Thomas, Devery Henderson

The five least likely to return are: Will Smith, Sedrick Ellis, Scott Shanle, Jonathan Vilma, David Thomas

Who do you think would be the best DC we can hire? - Robert S.

The one that's going to get the job done and turn this defense around, that's who. Seriously, though, you don't want my answer for this question. I would have told you last year that Steve Spagnuolo was a great hire and I would have been dead wrong. The good news: it really can't get much worse.

Will we pickup a free agent corner to pickup the gaping hole on the right side of the defense (when looking from behind the defense)? What other positions do you think we need free agents for, and which will we draft? - Dan K.

Dude, you've already asked me this same question about the cornerbacks already. As for your second question, I think the Saints need help on the defensive line, offensive line, at the safety position.

Will SB Nation ever correct the problems that the faithful are having with this blog? - Tac H.

The SB Nation team is always improving and correcting issues. Can you be more specific with the problems you are having? They've already adjusted the layout so everything in the river is in line. And they've recently adjusted the coloring for the FanPost and FanShot section. Those were my two big issues and now they're fixed! You can always report issues yourself to support@sbnation.com.
