NFL Free Agency 2013: Saints Sign Seneca Wallace

New, comments

It looks like Luke McCown will have some competition this summer.

Eric P. Mull-US PRESSWIRE

The New Orleans Saints have signed quarterback Seneca Wallace, per the team's vice president of communications Greg Bensel.

It was being reported last week that Wallace would almost definitely receive a contract offer from the Oakland Raiders. Obviously, that never happened.

Wallace made a name for himself in Seattle but was traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2010. He was released by the Browns following the 2012 pre-season. He will undoubtedly compete with Luke McCown for the backup quarterback spot behind Drew Brees.
