NFL Draft Results: Kenny Vaccaro to New Orleans Saints with No. 15 Overall Pick

Meet the No. 15 pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, Kenny Vaccaro, safety out of Texas, and now the New Orleans Saints newest defensive back.

With the 15th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints have selected Texas safety Kenny Vaccaro.

Fate was on the side of the Saints, as teams ahead of them continued drafting tackles and guards, leaving quality defensive talent still on the board. Interesting, the Saints passed on both Sharrif Floyd and Jarvis Jones. That should show you how much they value Vaccaro.

During his four years with Texas he had 231 tackles, 14 for a loss, 2 sacks, 5 interceptions, 24 passes defended, and 4 forced fumbles. Vaccaro was known not only for his coverage skills but his ability to make jarring tackles as well.

At the 2013 NFL Scouting Combine the 6'1", 218 lbs. Vaccaro ran a 4.63 40-yard dash, bench pressed 15 reps of 225 pounds, had a 38 inch vertical, a 121 inch broad jump, and was the top performer in the 20-yard shuttle with a time of 4.06 sec.
