Johnathan Cooper, G, North Carolina
I spent last weekend conversing with the Titans fans overr at Music City Miracles. With the many additions they have made through free agency, their options for the NFL Draft are wide open. They have addressed their O-line and short yardage running back situation. They've upgraded, they hope, their backup quarterback situation. They've signed safeties, two of them, and have even beefed up their D-line.
My draft pick addresses the teams attempt to get more physical with their offense. The Titans want to help Jake Locker as much as possible, by improving the run game. They have signed Shonn Greene, to be the 3rd down, short yardage back, and added some veteran O-line depth. Much of CJ's failings last year were blamed, rightly or wrongly, on a weak right guard presence.
With Chance Warmack being drafted by Buffalo, I chose Jonathan Cooper. The Tar Heels guard should break open lanes for both CJ and Greene while also protecting the pocket and giving Locker the time to go through his reads.
So what do you think, sports fans. Like this pick or hate it? Vote below.
