Time to Honor: Former Saints standouts Mills, Gleason and Williams deserve team recognition
Going into the 2005 New Orleans Saints season, the local NFL squad announced that in conjunction with Superdome management it would induct long-time "Dome Patrol" linebacker Sam Mills into the Superdome Wall of Fame during pre-game of the club's regular-season home opener on September 18 against the New York Giants. We all know that hurricane Katrina would alter those and countless other plans in the region. Now that almost eight football campaigns have passed, it is definitely long overdue that a gentleman by the truest of definitions as well as a Pro Football Hall of Fame candidate receives a belated day in the sun under the shade of the Dome roof. A proper make-up date for enshrinement alongside the other good people already in their proper placement is in order. Hopefully all parties involved will come together in the near future to make this a reality.
