New Orleans Saints Defensive Line 2012 vs. 2013: Did They Improve?

Significant changes in scheme and personnel make it very difficult to tell whether the Saints' defensive line will be better in 2013.

As we enter into the final weeks of the 2013 off-season and inch closer to the start of training camp, we're examining this year's Saints roster to see if the front office's hard work in free agency and the draft has paid off. So we're going position by position to determine whether the team has improved in 2013 compared to last year.

We continue our series with the defensive line. Here's a look at last year's Saints roster and their current roster as it stands right now.

This off-season was definitely one of transition for the Saints' defensive line, not only in scheme but in personnel as well. Because of that, I honestly feel it's damn near impossible to compare this year's candidates with last year's roster. We really just don't know what to expect. But because I'm an optimist, and because I think Rob Ryan will definitely get more out of his players than Spagnuolo, I'd like to think the 2013 defensive line is better off now.

The Edge: 2013

Anyone think they know what to expect from the defensive line this season?
