New Orleans Saints Quarterbacks 2012 vs. 2013: Who Has The Edge?

The loss of Chase Daniel this off-season turned out to be a major blow to the Saints' quarterback position.

USA TODAY Sports

As we enter into the final weeks of the 2013 off-season and inch closer to the start of training camp, we're examining this year's Saints roster to see if the front office's hard work in free agency and the draft has paid off. So we're going position by position to determine whether the team has improved in 2013 compared to last year.

We continue our series with the quarterback position. Here's a look at last year's Saints roster and their current roster as it stands right now.

Chase Daniel moved on to greener pastures this off-season when he got himself paid by the Kansas City Chiefs during free agency. And while the Saints brought in veterans Seneca Wallace and Luke McCown to fill the void, I'm not so sure either is an adequate replacement. After three years with New Orleans, Daniel was a competent backup with plenty of knowledge of Payton's complex system. As much as I love my fellow Tulane alum Ryan Griffin, he'll be of little use to the Saints this season.
