The New Orleans Saints have finally announced their roster cuts to get down to the NFL maximum 75 players. The team has waived linebacker Eric Martin, wide receiver Tim Toone and safety Akwasi Owusu-Ansah.
They also placed wide receiver Joe Morgan, and linebackers Will Smith and Chris Chamberlain on the injured reserve list, while Victor Butler is still on the Reserve PUP list.
Not really any surprises here, with the possible exception of linebacker Eric Martin. He was getting a lot of praise early in training camp, even taking reps with the first team. But he seems to have fallen off significantly in preseason.
