The New Orleans Saints have signed wide receiver Steve Breaston to a 1-year deal today, per Ian Rapoport on Twitter.
The #Saints are signing WR Steve Breaston to a 1-year deal, per @EricDMetz. Could be good value in that system.

Breaston was a 5th round draft pick by the Arizona Cardinals in 2007. He has been catching passes for the Kansas City Chiefs the past two seasons, though 2012 was incredibly disappointing with only 7 catches for 74 yards.
Breaston could certainly be serviceable if healthy, moreso than receiver Laurent Robinson who was scheduled to visit the Saints today as well.
As I said this morning, I really don't know why the Saints feel they need more depth at the receiver position when they've already got so many other respectable young players on the roster. I can't imagine the Saints did this in an attempt to try and scout their opponent this Friday, the Kansas City Chiefs. It's just a pre-season game.
