In a Labor Day afternoon announcement that surprised this dozing content provider, the New Orleans Saints wrapped things up in regard to the 2013 practice squad by adding two more players to the eight-man roster.
According to the official team release, they signed 2013 draft pick LB Rufus Johnson, and OL Senio Kelemete, a 2012 fifth-round selection of the Arizona Cardinals, along with the other six practice squad players who signed Sunday.
The bio on Johnson (whom some were surprised to see on the Saints' cut list Saturday) in the release notes the following:
Johnson was the club's sixth-round draft pick in 2013 and finished the preseason with four tackles (two solo). Converted to linebacker after playing defensive end for two years at Tarleton State, the Dallas native posted college totals in 20 games with 19 starts of 96 tackles (55 solo), 33 tackles for a loss, 15.5 sacks, three passes defensed and one forced fumble.
Kelemete, a second-year player, has a pretty short NFL resume, too, appearing in only one game as a guard in 2012:
Kelemete (pronounced "SENN-ee-oh" "KEL-uh-MET-tay") was a fifth-round draft pick of the Arizona Cardinals in 2012 and spent his entire rookie season on the club's roster before debuting at right guard in his team's season finale. The Seattle native was a two-time team captain and All-Pac 12 performer at the University of Washington, where he appeared in 46 games with 41 starts on the Huskies offensive line. He finished his college career by opening 26 consecutive games at left tackle after starting 11 of 12 games at guard during his sophomore campaign.
We'll have to check with the crew and see if Kelemete's name will also earn him a spot on the "All-Unpronounceable" sub-roster of the squad.
So, now we can announce the full practice squad for the 2013 New Orleans Saints, by position, which you can get ready to see on the inactive list in the open threads prior to games each week:
QB Ryan Griffin
FB Austin Johnson
WR Saalim Hakim
TE Michael Higgins
OL - Marcel Jones, Senio Kelemete
LB Rufus Johnson
DB Jumal Rolle

With that out of the way, now we can begin rampant optimistic/pessimistic assessment of the season outlook based on this @crucial information@. Look out Falcons - forget this whole "Drew Brees is better than Matt Ryan" crap, our practice squad can kick your practice squad's ass!!
