The New Orleans Saints made a valiant effort to come back after being down to the Seattle Seahawks 16-0 at halftime, but their efforts fell short as they lose the NFC Divisional playoff game and their season comes to an end.
The Saints actually had a remote chance to tie it up with just seconds left after successfully recovering an onside kick, but Marques Colston decided to try a lateral instead of step out of bounds and give the Saints one more chance to reach the end zone.
Despite giving up 23 points the Saints defense played well, giving their offense plenty of chances to win the game but Seattle's defense proved too much.
I thought things might have ended differently following Robert Meachem's incredible catch that was tipped and nearly intercepted by Seahawks defenders, but the Saints abandoned the run during a series of questionable play calling.
Shayne Graham missed two key field goals.
A Mark Ingram fumble in Saints territory during the first half followed by an easy touchdown by the Seahawks was incredibly costly.
I don't really feel like talking about this game anymore right now. Great season by the Saints. Already looking forward to the next one.
