Former Saints safety Darren Sharper was arrested Friday on suspicion of rape in Los Angeles, California. Sharper was released on $200,000 bail.
The story was first reported by TMZ, who says he's actually been linked to two separate cases of sexual assault in L.A., one in October of 2013 and the other earlier this month.
Since news of his arrest broke, we've also learned of a pending investigation by NOPD in New Orleans following a sexual complaint filed September 24th, 2013.
If you're keeping track at home, that's three sexual complaint cases in two different cities. Things aren't looking so good for our dearly beloved friend, who has already been suspended from his job as on-air analyst on NFL Network. His bio can no longer be found on the NFL Network website.
Sharper has a court appearance in Los Angeles set for February 14th,Valentine's Day. How romantic?
Obviously Sharper is innocent until proven guilty so let's reserve any official judgement until such time as more facts are revealed. If he does turn out to be guilty of the allegations it would truly be a shame, since all of it could have easily been avoided:
