As you well know by now, Brandin Cooks and Rafael Bush were placed on IR Monday. Cooks had season ending surgery on a broken thumb that happen on a punt return during the game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Bush broke his fibula during the same game.
A couple of moves appear to have been made to address the depth at the secondary, with Rafael Bush going on IR. One Terrence Frederick, a CB was move from the PS to the active squad. Derrick isn't known for his speed but has skills at zone coverage and was also good at run support when he played at A&M. His 5'10" statue makes him more suited to the slot or in nickel back coverage.
Pierre Warren was also signed to the active roster. Warren was waived and signed to the Vikings practice squad, but he was with the team for training camp, the preseason, and a short stint on the PQ. Many, myself included, liked Pierre when we had him. It was just a case of too many safeties on the roster for him to stick. My how times have changed.
In a hopeful sign that we may have Pierre Thomas and/or Khiry Robinson back soon, the Saints waived RBs Brian Leonard and Edwin Baker.
The Saints also signed WR Jalen Saunders, from the Seahawks PS as well as free agent LB Moise Fokou, (someone will have fun with that name).
Another LB, Jerry Franklin was signed to the PS.
