The New Orleans Saints enjoyed a day off yesterday as the rest of the league not on a bye squared off in Week 9 action.
In NFC South dumpster fire news, Tampa Bay lost to Cleveland and Atlanta struggled to NOT lose to their bye.
NFC West-dominating 7-1 Arizona dumped Dallas to knock them off their perch atop the NFC East, while Seattle held onto second place by squeaking past a lively Oakland crew. San Francisco couldn't punch it in from the goal line with time running out in the 4th quarter, and fell to St. Louis, evening their record at 4-4 prior to their upcoming game in the Superdome.
The Nick Foles-less Eagles glided to victory over the Texans on the wings of backup QB Mark Sanchez to leapfrog Dallas and secure their lead position in the NFC East. Touchdown Teddy H2O led his Vikings to a three-point win over Washington, as thousands marched and protested outside the Vikes' temporary stadium home to call for Washington football club name change.
Kansas City clobbered the New Jersey Football Jets, the Bengals bumped off Blake Bortles and the Jaguars, and Miami stole San Diego's thunder by shutting them out. Brady and the Patriots beat the dead horse of Manning and the Broncos by 22, while Big Ben and the Steelers struck midnight on Flacco and the Ravens, 43-23.
