The New Orleans Saints come home following a surprising victory in Pittsburgh. Now they face their longtime rival and the defending NFC South Champions in the Carolina Panthers. Carolina, like every other defending South champion since the division's inception, should ultimately fail to retain the crown. The game this week in New Orleans will seal Carolina's fate with a Saints victory. Also, with a Carolina loss, the Saints can move another step closer to this season's NFC South crown. This is just one of many games with playoff implications in Week 14.
Last week I went 9-7
What do I know: Steelers over Saints?!!!
Thursday, December 4th
Chicago steals a page from the Philly gameplan and stuns Dallas at home in primetime. Chicago wins 38-24
Sunday, December 7th - Early Games
Steelers(7-5) at Bengals(8-3-1)
Cincinnati's running game and homefield advantage will make a big difference in this game. Cincy wins 30-13.
Following a dominating performance in Week 13, St. Louis slips up and finds themselves upset in rainy Washington.
Both of these teams have horrific defenses, but the Giants' slightly better offense will make the difference in this one.
In what may be Week 14's least inspiring matchup, Minnesota's edge at quarterback and homefield advantage should make the difference.
Ravens(7-5) at Dolphins(7-5) - Game of the Week
This is an intriguing playoff-type matchup and could put the loser in a tough spot. This should be a very tight, well contested game. Baltimore wins late, 27-24.
Andrew Luck and the Indy passing attack should have little trouble continuing their dominance in Cleveland.
There will be a surprising amount of passing by both teams in this one, but Tampa will be ultimately overmatched. Detroit wins 31-24.
Jacksonville looks to win two in a row, but Houston's rushing attack will be too much to handle. Houston wins 20-13.
Panthers(3-8-1) at Saints(5-7)
Carolina is the weakest opponent New Orleans has faced since, well, these same Carolina Panthers back in Week 9. The Saints know what's on the line here, and they need to get their mojo back in the Superdome. Carolina is just the team the Saints need to get some of that mojo back. Saints win 31-10.
Sunday, December 7th - Late Games
Buffalo's defense will provide some resistance against Denver, but just not enough.
Arizona's season curled up and died last week in Atlanta. Over the next four weeks, the buzzards will come to pick their remains.
Seattle brings the NFL's top defense and top rushing attack to Philly, this will be enough to neutralize the Eagles.
San Francisco will take this lackluster "Battle of the Bay". Niners win 17-6.
Sunday Night Football
Patriots(9-3) at Chargers(8-4)
There will be far too much pressure on Philip Rivers to carry San Diego in this one. New England will rebound from their Week 13 loss with a solid road win here.
Monday, December 8th - Monday Night Football
Aaron Rodgers will feast on the NFL's worst defense on Monday Night. Rodgers getting some time off in the second half is the only thing that keeps this game from being even more lopsided. Packers win 37-14
There it is, Week 14 of the NFL season. We may just see another defending NFC South Champion perish in flames this Sunday. Leave us your picks, comments, and insight below.
