With the Saints roster now officially loaded with draft picks and rookie free agents, the team is ready to officially begin their off-season workout programs. So when will Saints fans get their first chance to peep the fresh meat?
According to the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the Saints can hold one post-NFL Draft rookie minicamp, which may be conducted on either the first or second weekend following the draft. The Saints will hold theirs this coming weekend. Participants will include all of the Saints shiny new draft picks, undrafted free agent signings, and minicamp invites.
Following that, the Saints will be allowed to conduct a total of 10 days of OTA off-season workouts. During this period, no activities may be held on weekends. Those will be held on May 27-29, June 3-5, and June 16-19. There will be no live contact permitted, but 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills are permitted.
Sandwiched in this period is also a mandatory minicamp for veteran players that the Saints will hold June 10-12. Then it's a break until the start of training camp.
