Lawmakers are getting out of a dispute between New Orleans Saints owner Tom Benson and NFL players about workers compensation claims.
Louisiana workers' comp bill opposed by the NFLPA gets pulled
The bill would have calculated workers comp benefits for injured athletes based on earnings at the time of the injury, rather than future earnings – a calculation supporters had argued was in line with prevailing case law and wouldn't reduce any current player's benefits.
