NFL Mock Draft 2014: Seattle Seahawks Select Morgan Moses

With the thirty-second overall pick in the 2014 Canal Street Chronicles community mock draft, the Seattle Seahawks (represented by saintmanumit) select...

Howard Smith-USA TODAY Sports

Morgan Moses, OT, Virginia

Seattle, Washington. Home of Starbucks Coffee, MicroSoft, misty weather, and the World Champion Seattle Seahawks. (Wow, that feels weird to say, let alone type)

QUESTION: WHAT DO YOU GIVE THE TEAM THAT HAS EVERYTHING?

TRICK QUESTION.

THERE IS NO SUCH TEAM.

Make no mistake about it: The 12th Man did it! Seattle did just win the Super Bowl. Russel Wilson is the face of the team, but that Seattle D ran and will run the show!! Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas, Kim Chancellor, Michael Bennett, Cliff Avril, and Bobby Wagner show no signs of slowing down. DL Red Bryant and DB Walter Thurmond sought greener pastures elsewhere, so depth needs to be replenished. But in the first round?  Really?

The offense, particularly Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch, main goal was to not lose the game. And for the most part, particularly in the playoffs, they succeeded. But the O was far from perfect last year. Their O-line was often injured and makeshift to say the least. That led to 44 sacks on Wilson. RT Breno Giacomini is a Jet and WR Golden Tate and his diversity on the offense fled for Detroit. Yeah I remember the Hawks resigning of Sidney Rice, but that does not even out for Tate's lost.

All of that to say this: the offense is nowhere on par talent-wise with the defense. Per NFL.com, the Seahawks were flagged at least seven times in 13 of their 16 regular-season games. Wide receiver seems to be the sexiest need but the Hawks would be better served drafting an offensive tackle and taking a couple of receivers in the later rounds as the decline in quality is not as drastic at wide receiver as it is with offensive tackle.

Henceforth, with the 32nd pick in 2014 NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks select....

Morgan Moses, Right Tackle, Virginia

A top 25 player for the 32nd pick? I am running to the podium!!
